Witley Neighbourhood Plan 2017-2032 – Publication of the Decision Statement
Witley Parish Council submitted the Witley Neighbourhood Plan 2017-2032 (the “Plan”) to Waverley Borough Council on 22nd November 2019. Waverley Borough Council held a six week consultation on the submitted Neighbourhood Plan from 17th February to 30th March 2020. An independent examiner, Mr Andrew Ashcroft, then conducted an examination by written representations. Mr Ashcroft issued a report setting out his recommendations on 18th August 2020.
On 23rd September 2020 Waverley Borough Council published the Decision Statement on the Plan. The Decision Statement sets out that the Council accepts all of the independent examiner’s recommendations with the exception that the relevant wording on use classes is changed to accord with the amendment to the Use Classes Order made on 1st September 2020. It also agrees that the Plan can proceed to referendum. The Decision Statement together with the report of the independent examiner can be inspected on the Council’s website at www.waverley. gov.uk/WitleyNP. If you are unable to access the document online, please contact the Planning Policy team on 01483 523291 and we will endeavour to make a hard copy available to you.
The Council will arrange for a referendum to take place on the Plan. Please note that the Coronavirus Act 2020 means that currently neighbourhood plan referendums cannot take place until 6 May 2021. Until the referendum can take place, the Plan will be given significant weight in decision-making, so far as the Plan is material to the application.
